What if something goes wrong? What if I'm not made happy? And this doesn't end up how I always imagined it would? What if? What if? What if?
We love to have control of situations. To know what's going to happen, when it's going to happen, and how it's going to happen. But truly? What is the worth of it all? Since when do we have the foresight, hindsight, and present sight of knowing exactly how a situation should turn out? We have no control, even when we think we do. And so the best thing to do is give up what we think is control, and let God take control. Of our every situation and small matter. And in doing so, we need to give up all back up plans as well. See, isn't that just what we do? We say, "Ok God, it's in Your hands.... But just in case this doesn't work out I'm going to keep this plan in the back of my mind... Just in case." But that isn't trusting God. It's not giving up complete control. It's basically being a hypocrite. So I'm giving up my back up plan today and all days. Will you?
This was such a great read! After my younger brother drowned, my greatest battle was holding my children and husband with an open palm AND loving them with crazy abandon! We really don't have any control over things anyway, so why pretend, right? God is big enough and bright enough to shine through the storm. =)
